Pregnancy & Birth :
Renee's Homebirth Story

My little Isaiah Mitchell Jacoby was born at home Friday, Jan 4, 6:37a.m.. His birth was attended by Marilyn (midwife), her assistant (Janice), Diane (my co leader, whom was there for my girls), Meredith and her son Aidan (a dear friend and her 8 month old son), my husband and our three daughters.

Contractions started at 12:00 a.m. but were the kind that were questionable ( as to whether they were the start of real labor). At approx. 3:00a.m. I was awoken with contractions that I was sure of, were the real thing. My birth team arrived between 4:00-4:30, about 5:30 my three year old nursed for a few minutes...that set me into transition and by 6:20 I was ready to push. At 6:35 my water broke spontaneously, 6:37 he was born weighing in at 8lbs. 13 oz. 21 inches.

Our son was born at home into the loving arms of his whole family. If I can sum up our experience in just a few words...these words are what come to mind:
EMPOWERING, HEALING, BEAUTIFUL!!!

Blessings~
