"Fresno AP Mommies" Playgroup
A playgroup
started by me, Fresno Family's Webmama, that has grown
in leaps in bounds since its beginnings in early 2001.
This group is for "attachment
parenting" mommies to be able to connect and get the
support that we need, since we tend to go against the
"mainstream" in our parenting style. We are a group of
mommies who don't believe in letting our children "cry
it out" (we always respond in some way to baby's cries,
and don't believe you can spoil a baby by holding them
too much), we tend to family bed (tho not all of us), we
carry or "wear" our babies alot, we strongly believe in
breastfeeding, and particularly in feeding on demand
(there are no Ezzo, "Babywise", supporters amongst
us...we are all very opposed to his practices)...many of
us breastfeed past a year, some past 2 years, we believe
in gentle discipline (no spanking)...These are our
general beliefs...not all of us are strict in all of
this, but that is a broad overview of how our mommies
feel. More info here. If this sounds like something that grooves with
your parenting,
email
here and we'll add you to our announcement only
egroup so you can find out about our activities.
